Stephen represents insurers and brokers in structured settlement litigation, including putative class actions, tortious interference, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty. He represents more insurers in structured settlement litigation throughout the nation than any other attorney in the country. He has also acted as counsel for insurers in appellate matters. He advises insurers on payment obligations and liability issues arising out of the administration of annuities.. Stephen recently obtained a judgment of $12.5 million for an insurer in the Eastern District of New York in a case involving breach of contract and alter ego issues. As an active member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association, Stephen meets regularly with trade association members, structured settlement brokers, and insurers to discuss the latest structured settlement legal issues. He currently serves as co-chair of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association Legal Committee. Stephen earned his undergraduate degree from Occidental College and his law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
